Is Anna Hazare another Gandhi?

Posted: April 9, 2011 by uNbReAkAbLe in Uncategorized

Is Anna Hazare another Gandhi? A question raised by many, is so important in the context that Gandhi Ji never wanted to be in the currency notes smiling, just to be the fundamental aspect of bribing and corruption from which Anna Hazare(a Gandhian!) is fighting.
Anna Hazare has the courage even in his 70’s to stand up to the wrong-doers and say no, but does people who are following him in his fight have it?
Few of them might have that courage required. But just a few.!
Let’s get back a little in our history when Gandhi was the one fighting against the British. He was followed by almost whole of the India. We got rid of the British. We got our freedom. But ended up with what?

Our own government, our own people and unfortunately our own greed and voracity. What started as an independent India has become a dependent India. We are now dependent on the money, the babus accepting bribes, the common man paying the bribes just to get his work done. The simplest of the jobs need the unauthorized payment at every level of the system.

But then why are the babus or the other officials to be blamed??

Even the small kids are taught to do this. “Do your homework and then you can have the ice-cream.”
Now what’s wrong when the same kid demands the ‘ice-cream’ when he knows you will be the most desperate to have the work done.
The jan lokpal bill can be a solution to the widespread corruption. But just going through rallies and candle marches isn’t showing the real support. This shows how we can come together for a cause, but what happens after the jan lokpal bill will decide the fate of our country.
What if no one gives a damn about the jan lokpal bill and still bribes? What if we still support Anna Hazare for what he did and still try getting ‘jugad’? What if the support shown just fades away and becomes history?

This is what happened with Gandhi. And are we making Anna Hazare another Gandhi just stuck to the currency notes, smiling on his own failure?

PS: perhaps many would think I am being discouraging, but this is what I felt.
PS: Anna Hazare has done what no one would have liked to start.!

PS:rock on!!!

Champions…!

I’ll put you through hell, but at the end of it all we’ll be champions.
Bear Bryant

I don’t know what Bear Bryant had in his mind when he said this, but this year almost all the champions in sport are going through hell. Having said that I will not just sit back and enjoy but provide you with facts.

If we look at the English premier league, one of the most followed soccer league in the world, the last season’s league was won by the West London side, Chelsea FC and even the start of this season they were playing like the champions. They had the best form they could have, Didier Drogba was in no mood to stop scoring, even Anelka was having a good time in front of the net, the defense was in the best shape even without Ricardo Carvalho who moved to Real Madrid. It never looked as if the Champions had anyone closer to them. But it was just the start. What happened next was the perfect slump if there is one. It was the worst possible way the champions could have fallen after starting so well. So, they are now placed at the 5th position of the EPL table, they recently lost to Everton in the FA cup and now face the leaders Manchester United who have just lost a single match this season.

Moving on to the German Bundesliga, we have Bayern Munich, who were the winners of the German Bundesliga last season and had been the winner of the German Bundesliga for 22 times are now placed third in there league. Although they beat the last year UEFA Champions League winners,Internazionale(Inter Milan) in the first leg of there last sixteen, but someone with the impressive 22 German Bundesliga titles shouldn’t be struggling in their forte. But when you look at the points table you can just worry(if you are a Bayern fan.!) to see the point difference between the league leaders Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich and in the next fixture they face the league leaders and this may sound very similar to the EPL after knowing that the league leaders Borussia Dortmund has just lost 2 of the matches.

Now lets move a little more south, south west to be precise. Lets move to France.
The champion team here was Marseille in the previous season. This season they are placed at number 3 in the league table. They held Manchester United at a 0-0 draw in there champions league home game of the last sixteen round. But in the local league they have the lesser known club Lille above them at the first position with a 3 point lead with 14  matches remaining. They still have hope!

All of above teams have hope. That’s what the champions thrive upon. That’s what everyone in this world plays for. But at times you have to fall down only to get back up. I am not a fan of any of the above mentioned teams, but what I mean to convey here is that the champions fall! But they are champions because they have stood up again!

The mark of a great player is in his ability to come back. The great champions have all come back from defeat.
Sam Snead

PS: It has been a long time since I wrote something.

PS: I just hope that this post inspires people(including me! I want to write more often!!) to stand up again.

Public Service…

Sitting at a bench, observing my workplace, I wondered what if I was really required here. What a disaster it can be even when people who need the transport don’t even actually have time to wait and admire the human improvement from his own feet to wheels and large rooms made up of steel to transport the humans themselves!

And then I got the answer in the question itself. As the normal people, the general ’busy’ ones are busy in themselves getting transported, there are various people trying to disrupt them. And therefore people like me exist. People who unwillingly, are ‘asked’ to be at the wee hours at some important days of high risks.

Most of the days pass just blurting out or rather making new ‘adjectives’ for my boss who was responsible for ‘asking’ me to wake up when I used to sleep. Of course, these words weren’t in his praise! I wondered whether today would be any different!

As I was submerging myself into my own world, a lady, precisely a girl, about 21years of age, came towards me.

“Can I sit here?” she asked watching me stare at her.

“Yeah…of…of course!” I was caught off-guard perhaps.

“Thanks…” she smiled, “…I need to wait for my train. It’ll be here in about 15minutes I suppose.”

“Hmm…you can wait here with that heavy luggage of yours!”

“Oh! Yeah. It IS heavy.” She smiled a bit and then taking a look at her luggage, restrained herself to some music, sounding like something alien, on her mobile.

I got the clue- NOT INTERESTED! Well, who’ll be interested in a guy in a uniform, which is not camouflage, trying to disturb you in the wee hours? Of course, not a girl!

So, I succumbed to my self –embarrassment. But then, I was somehow enjoying making the new ‘adjectives’ and many a times staring at the girl. And she caught me intently gazing her. Her eyes met mine. She looked beautiful, but mad at me now. To which the train came. 15 minutes seem so less to get a proper look at the girl sitting next to you! Or maybe it was the workload making me tired!

Never mind, the train came and the girl stood up. She just went into the steel box!

“Just another day.” As I tried to convince myself about the coming hours to be fun, I noticed that the ‘heavy’ luggage which belonged to the girl was still lying!

‘Is it a bomb? What should I do now? Call the police stupid!..Yes….What ’yes’? You ARE the police!’

My mind was freaking out just when I picked up the luggage and ran into the compartment which the girl went in.

Thinking about the girl, I checked every passenger who either was sitting or for their misfortune, sleeping! Just as I thought I lost her, I heard a familiar voice.

“Hey! Mr. Policeman! Here!” it was the girl.

I was surprised, but I just walked towards her and tried to open my mouth to show my anger.

“you…” to which she replied a much casual manner.

“It is heavy. I know. You can keep it here. Thanks.”

I still was dumbstruck!

“Well. Now that you are done with your job you should go. The train is about to leave.”

“What job? I am a policeman for crying out loud! I don’t pick up luggage!”

“Public service…? Isn’t it?” she just smiled and surprisingly, I smiled back.

I just got back to my bench and found a note left on it. It had a number and it said,

“Thanks for the job you ‘really’ do, policeman.”
